Our Mission

Northeast Austere Medicine Collective provides wilderness medicine, austere medical training, and rescue skills education for medical professionals, first responders, veterans, and outdoor leaders. We teach evidence-based medical care and technical skills in real terrain throughout the Northeast. Our programs focus on realistic scenarios, risk management, and building true field competence in remote environments.

Medical Director – Field Training & Program Development

Sean Bilodeau, DO, FAWM

Dr. Bilodeau is an attending emergency medicine physician in rural, critical access hospitals as well as a tertiary referral center. He completed emergency medicine residency at Brown University and subspecialty training in emergency medical services. A Fellow in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, he has taught courses throughout the US and Europe and specializes in simulation-based education.

Medical Director – Education & Clinical Standards

Jessica Vittorelli, DO

Dr. Vittorelli is an emergency medicine physician at a critical-access hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire. She completed residency at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA, and a Wilderness Medicine Fellowship at Baystate Medical Center. She has taught internationally in Africa, Nepal, and Peru on remote treks and high-altitude expeditions. At NAMC, she leads curriculum development, clinical oversight, and evidence-based content integration.

Director of Operations

Matt Vittorelli

Matt is a U.S. Army veteran with extensive experience in mission planning, logistics, and team operations in austere environments. He has worked across critical care and prehospital settings and is completing a graduate degree in Outdoor Recreation Economy at the University of Colorado Boulder. Matt oversees NAMC’s program development, logistics, operational systems, and organizational strategy.
